Found just a short drive south of Lake Simcoe’s spectacular southernmost bay (Cook’s Bay), Newmarket is a town in central York Region. In fact, it’s actually a regional seat within the Regional Municipality of York.

Home to about 85,000 local residents, Newmarket is a town that has seen some major development since its early years as an agricultural and farming settlement.

Since the 1980s, following the construction of several large highways, Newmarket has become somewhat of a commuter oasis, adopted by new residents who travel daily to nearby cities for work.
